Honor Your Teacher Day
September 10th is an official holiday in China to celebrate educators and teachers. This holiday, in its different interpretations, has existed in China as early as the Middle Ages. Teachers and coaches have always been honored and respected in China. Very often teachers acted as mentors throughout the whole life; especially it is true for the traditional Chinese martial arts.
On September 10th, festive events are held throughout China to honor educators. Students thank their teachers for their important work often by giving flowers or gifts.
At Meadow Brook, the PTO and CHI-PAC (Chinese Immersion Parent Advisory Council) work together to thank and honor all of our teachers with flowers - a small token of the respect, support, and admiration that the students and families have for them.
